Wayne Brady is heading to the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The comedian and performer is set to guest star in the eighth episode of Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 20, alongside Selma Blair.
The casting marks a TV reunion of sorts for Brady and Blair, who both competed on Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. Details about their characters are being kept under wraps. The season is currently in production.
The episode finds the BAU investigating a series of murders in Los Angeles targeting people tied to the skincare industry. The UnSub has an especially specific method involving a chemically altered spa treatment that dissolves his victims’ skin. Meanwhile, Tyler Green stays behind with his nephew, whose troubles with his nemesis escalate.
Season 20 follows a landmark 19th season that closed out the long-running Sicarius storyline, ending with Elias Voit taking the blame for a murder committed by his daughter to keep her out of prison, marking actor Zach Gilford’s departure from the series. The new season is expected to return the show to its classic procedural roots.
Starring Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler and RJ Hatanaka with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster, Criminal Minds: Evolution follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, a team of profilers tasked with analyzing and capturing the country’s most dangerous criminals before they strike again.
The series is produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios. Erica Messer serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw and Mark Gordon.
