Netflix has revealed the main cast and guest stars for the upcoming second season of the hit supernatural mystery series “Wednesday.” The series, which stars Jenna Ortega in the titular role, has already begun production in Ireland.
Joining the cast as new series regulars are Billie Piper (“Scoop”), Steve Buscemi, Evie Templeton (“Return to Silent Hill”), Owen Painter (“Tiny Beautiful Things”), and Noah Taylor (“Law & Order: Organized Crime”). A teaser for the new season, featuring the iconic Thing character delivering scripts to the cast, introduces Piper’s character Capri and Buscemi’s character Barry Dort.
Furthermore, several Season 1 recurring and guest stars are being promoted to series regulars for Season 2. This includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Deputy Ritchie Santiago.
Creators and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar had previously hinted at expanding the Addams family dynamic in Season 2, exploring Wednesday’s relationships with her family, especially her mother, Morticia. This expansion aligns with fan expectations and adds depth to the series’ narrative.
The returning series regulars for Season 2 include Ortega as Wednesday, Emma Myers as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, and Georgie Farmer as Ajax.
Notably absent from the main cast lineup for Season 2 are Percy Hynes White, Jamie McShane, and Naomi J Ogawa, whose characters concluded their arcs in Season 1. However, McShane is set to return as Sheriff Donovan Galpin in a guest star capacity to resolve his character’s storyline.
Season 2 guest stars also include Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, with Fred Armisen reprising his role as Uncle Fester.
Additionally, Christopher Lloyd, known for his role as Uncle Fester in the Addams Family films, will guest star in an undisclosed role.
The series, known for its blend of supernatural elements and dark comedy, has garnered massive popularity on Netflix. Its first season topped the charts as Netflix’s Most Popular English TV series, amassing over 252 million views and maintaining a strong presence in global rankings.
