Winston Duke is leaving the Marvel universe for the DC Universe to voice Batman in Spotify’s upcoming Batman Unburied podcast series. Harry Potter’s Jason Isaac will also lend his voice for the series.
The series, which marks one of the highest-profile scripted podcasts to date, is a psychological thriller that takes listeners deep into the mind of Bruce Wayne introducing a slew of dark twists and turns with a number of classic Batman Super-Villains.

When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens. Not only will the Super-Hero be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them in order to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego Batman.
Duke will voice Bruce Wayne aka Batman and Isaac will voice Wayne’s loyal butler and right-hand man, Alfred.

Eric Carrasco, Saladin Ahmed, Rebecca Klingel, and Graham Westerson will pen the series David S. Goyer is executive producing Batman Unburied alongside Keith Levine and Gracie Wheelan for Phantom Four. Also executive producing are Liz Gateley and Elena Blekhter for Spotify, and Peter Girardi and Shaleen Desai for Blue Ribbon Content. Alex Kemp directs with Wolf at the Door doing physical production.
No other castings have yet been announced nor has a release date been set for the podcast, which will tell the tale story over one season. A release plan — i.e. whether episodes will drop weekly or all at once — is also unknown.
Batman Unburied is the first podcast stemming from an expansive 2020 pact between DC and Spotify. Other DC characters expected to join the podcasting universe in the future include Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, Catwoman, Riddler and Batgirl.
