How To Get Away With Murder alum Aja Naomi King joins QCode podcast Blackout for its second season. She will star opposite returning cast Rami Malek.
The series centers on Simon Itani (Malek) a small-town New Hampshire radio DJ who fights to protect his family and community after the power grid goes down nationwide, upending modern civilization. The first season was directed and edited by Shawn Christensen and consisted of 8 episodes.

Season two’s writer and co-director is Jeremy Novick and Stef Abel Horowitz. Along with QCode, Rami Malek, creator Scott Conroy, and Endeavor Content will serve as executive producers. QCode will finance and distribute and handle sales.
Because the podcast Blackout’s first season was so popular, Blackout is also in line for a potential TV series commission, although there is no word yet on whether or not Rami will appear in a small screen version.

Season one of the podcast Blackout was made in partnership with Endeavor Audio who financed and co-distributed. It topped the Apple podcast chart in the fiction category and has been downloaded more than 12 million times.
Season two of the apocalyptic thriller will be released early this summer.
