Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has just inked a major deal with Sony Pictures Television, securing a multi-year first-look agreement that will allow him to produce a slate of scripted drama series for streaming and cable platforms. Through this deal, Abdul-Mateen’s production company, House Eleven10, will have the opportunity to develop and produce projects under Sony’s banner, bringing fresh, boundary-pushing stories to the screen.
The first project under this exciting new partnership is an adaptation of Ghostman, the bestselling novel by Roger Hobbs. In this gripping thriller, Abdul-Mateen will star as the Ghostman, a mysterious figure who specializes in making things disappear. When a casino heist goes horribly wrong, leaving millions in cash up for grabs, the Ghostman has just 48 hours to clean up the mess—while staying ahead of someone who wants him dead. This high-stakes premise promises suspense, action, and a story that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
House Eleven10, founded by Abdul-Mateen in 2021, is all about creating bold, innovative stories, and the actor couldn’t be more excited about this new collaboration with Sony. “House Eleven10 is a place where creativity is limitless, and we could not have found a better home to share our vision of creating boundary-pushing and exciting stories,” he said. His production company, named in honor of his childhood home in Oakland, is dedicated to crafting stories that break new ground.
Sony Pictures Television shares this enthusiasm, with Andrew Plotkin, EVP of drama development at Sony, praising Abdul-Mateen’s talent. “Not only is he an incredible performer, but he is also a passionate storyteller whose creativity and vision will elevate every project he touches,” Plotkin said. “His dedication to bringing complex, compelling narratives to life aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering unique and impactful stories to audiences worldwide.”
Abdul-Mateen is no stranger to captivating audiences, having earned an Emmy for his portrayal of Cal Abar/Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. He’s also known for his roles in Aquaman, The Handmaid’s Tale, Black Mirror, and more. Alongside his work in Ghostman, Abdul-Mateen will star in the upcoming Marvel series Wonder Man on Disney+, and recently wrapped production on Man on Fire, a Netflix thriller based on A.J. Quinnell’s novels. He also joined By Any Means, a gripping crime thriller directed by The Inspection’s Elegance Bratton. Other upcoming projects include Emergency Contact, The Scent of Burnt Flowers, and I Helped Destroy People.
