Netflix’s ‘You’ Returns to Where it All Began in Killer Teaser Trailer for Final Season

Joe Goldberg’s story is coming full circle. Netflix has officially announced the premiere date of the fifth and final  season of You, with a teaser confirming the show’s return to where it all began: New York City.

The psychological thriller, led by Penn Badgley, follows Joe Goldberg, a dangerously obsessive man who stops at nothing—even murder—to embed himself in the lives of those who captivate him. According to the show’s logline, “In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”

The teaser, released Thursday, offers a glimpse into Joe’s final chapter. In a voiceover, Badgley reflects on Joe’s turbulent journey: “Here we are together again, back to where it began. A lot has happened these many years together: identities, cities, loves, complications.” Familiar faces from Joe’s past—including Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail),  Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle), Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), and Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie)—appear, reminding viewers of the chaos Joe has left in his wake.

“But all that led me here, to now, to where I was always meant to be,” Badgley’s voiceover continues. “And the one constant, the one thing that has always been there for me, is you. You, who have been there the whole time and will be there with me to the end. Goodbye, you.”

The final season’s cast includes Charlotte Ritchie, Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, and Griffin Matthews. Michael Foley and Justin Lo take over as co-showrunners for season five, with Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble, Penn Badgley, and others serving as executive producers.

You is produced by Warner Bros. Television and will premiere its fifth and final season on Netflix on april 24. The teaser sets the stage for Joe’s return to New York, where his perfect life collides with the haunting consequences of his actions.
