Carmen Ejogo to Star in Two New Projects: The Comedy “Goodrich” and HBO Max Series “The Penguin” [TEASER TRAILER]

Carmen Ejogo has signed on for two exciting new projects, the comedy film Goodrich and the upcoming HBO Max series The Penguin, with a teaser trailer for the latter.

“Goodrich” is a comedy film that stars Michael Keaton as art dealer Andy Goodrich, whose life is turned upside down when his younger wife enters rehab and threatens divorce. With his career in shambles, Goodrich is left to care for their nine-year-old twins and turns to his pregnant daughter Grace for help. Mila Kunis stars as Grace.

Ejogo’s role is undefined at the moment. The film is directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer and produced by C2 Motion Picture Group, Stay Gold Features, and Kevin Mann, with Amy Pascal, Keaton, and Kunis serving as executive producers. The film has just begun filming in Los Angeles.

Ejogo’s other project is “The Penguin,” an HBO Max series set in the world of “The Batman.” Colin Farrell stars as Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot, with Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes set to appear in recurring roles.

The series picks up after the immediate aftermath of the events of “The Batman,” and will delve deeper into the backstory and character of Oswald Cobblepot. Other cast members include Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, and Clancy Brown. The specific details of Ejogo, Chau, and Holmes’ characters are being kept under wraps.

Lauren LeFranc is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “The Penguin,” with “The Batman” director Matt Reeves executive producing via his production company 6th & Idaho, along with Dylan Clark of Dylan Clark Productions. Farrell is also executive producing in addition to starring, while Craig Zobel is executive producing and directing the first three episodes.

The series is based on the characters created for DC by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and is being produced by Warner Bros. Television. 6th & Idaho is currently under an overall deal at WBTV.

Carmen Ejogo is a British actress who has appeared in a variety of films and television shows throughout her career. She is known for her roles in films such as “Selma,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and “Alien: Covenant,” as well as TV series like “True Detective,” “The Girlfriend Experience,” and “Your Honor.” Ejogo has received critical acclaim for her performances and has been nominated for several awards, including a Golden Globe. She continues to be a prominent figure in the entertainment industry and has a number of upcoming projects in the works.
