CBS Renews 'Ghosts' For a Fourth Season

CBS has greenlit another season of the supernatural comedy “Ghosts,” cementing its status as a fan-favorite in the network’s lineup. This renewal comes on the heels of similar orders for hits like “Fire Country” and “Tracker.”

“Ghosts,” adapted from the acclaimed British comedy by the BBC, has been a ratings success for CBS since its premiere in 2021. With an average of over 10 million viewers across various platforms, including Paramount+, the show has solidified its reputation as one of CBS’ top comedies.

The early renewal for “Ghosts” provides continuity to CBS’ comedy slate, particularly as long-running series like “Young Sheldon” and “Bob Hearts Abishola” are wrapping up. Additionally, the decision allows CBS to navigate potential disruptions like an IATSE strike more effectively.

Starring Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, “Ghosts” centers on a couple who inherit a mansion in upstate New York, only to discover it’s haunted by its eccentric former occupants. The ensemble cast, which includes Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky, and Devon Chandler Long, delivers standout performances under the direction of executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.

Alongside “Ghosts,” CBS has also renewed “Fire Country” for a third season, highlighting the network’s commitment to diverse and compelling storytelling. Both shows have amassed dedicated fanbases, making them valuable assets for CBS’ upcoming programming slate.

Looking ahead, CBS is actively developing new series, including a “Young Sheldon” spinoff and a medical drama titled “Watson,” inspired by Sherlock Holmes. With a robust lineup of both returning favorites and exciting new projects, CBS continues to captivate audiences with its innovative programming choices.
