Ben Gavin (Super 8) rounds out the latest additions as Derek Baldwin, a committed firefighter romantically linked to Ashley and the best friend of Jacob Hawthorne.

Developed by CBS Studios/NAACP Venture and produced in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble, Beyond the Gates is making waves not only for its storytelling but also as a historic venture in daytime television. It is set to be the first one-hour Black daytime soap and the first new daytime drama to premiere since Passions in 1999.

Stay tuned as Beyond the Gates aims to redefine the daytime soap genre, bringing a fresh lens to stories of legacy, ambition, and the complexities of Black wealth and family. The series is expected to be an engaging addition to CBS’s lineup, representing a powerful moment for Black representation in the daytime TV space.
