Daniel Bellomy is set to recur on NCIS: Origins, the prequel series which has received a straight-to-series order for the 2024-2025 broadcast season. He joins previously cast regulars Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Mariel Molino. The series, which is produced by CBS Studios, also added Caleb Martin Foote and Robert Taylor to the cast in a recurring capacity.

“NCIS: Origins,” will be narrated by Mark Harmon and set to begin in 1991, giving viewers the chance to delve into the earlier years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Austin Stowell. The series follows Gibbs as a newly minted special agent at the NIS Camp Pendleton office, under the leadership of NCIS legend Mike Franks, played by Kyle Schmid. Harmon will also executive produce the series.

Bellomy will play Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, a young probationary agent, who’s cutting his teeth as the Evidence Custodian’s assistant, all the while itching to work his way up the ranks to field agent.

Foote portrays Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, the agency’s all too lovable golden boy. He’s been tasked with showing the newly minted Agent Gibbs the ropes, so thankfully, this father of young twins is practiced in patience. Taylor will play Jackson Gibbs, the hard-nosed father of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, originally played by Ralph Waite in many episodes of NCIS.

Abercrumbie’s Mary Jo is the Field Operation Support Officer at the Camp Pendleton office. Described as both a product of her time and the backbone of the team, Mary Jo humorously refers to herself as “HSIC” – Head Secretary in Charge.

Rodriguez is Special Agent Vera Strickland, a no-nonsense Brooklynite known for her sharp wit and tough demeanor. Despite facing discrimination in her career, Vera is unyielding and ready to take on any challenge. Mariel Molino portrays Special Agent Lala Dominguez. The series is co-written and co-showrun by David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal, with Jason Kennedy serving as the casting director.

“NCIS: Origins” will provide viewers with insight into the early years of Gibbs and the formation of the NCIS team. It is one of the two newly added extensions of the ever-growing NCIS franchise. The other one is the Europe-set Tony & Ziva spinoff starring Michael Weatherly and Cote De Pablo for Paramount+. The two series join the original NCIS, now in its 21st season, NCIS: Hawai’i, now in Season 3 and the franchise’s first international installment, NCIS: Sydney.
