Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection is expanding its world with two major additions. Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson have officially joined the Paramount+ Premium drama as series regulars.
They join a growing cast led by Michael C. Hall, alongside Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Brian Cox, and Dan Stevens.
Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection picked up weeks after Dexter Morgan was shot by his son, Harrison. Awakening from a coma to find Harrison missing, Dexter heads to New York City in search of him — hoping to repair the damage he’s caused. But as Miami Metro’s Angel Batista closes in, Dexter’s past resurfaces, pulling both father and son deeper into darkness in a city that never sleeps.
Season 2 plot details remain under wraps, but the stakes are already high.
Woodbine will take on the role of Captain Mixon, described as a relentless NYPD homicide captain, while Johnson plays Fiona Mixon — a homicide unit training officer, nepo-baby in the policing world, and Harrison Morgan’s new love interest.
Cox is set to portray Don Framt, aka the New York Ripper, while Stevens plays the Five Borough Killer. Thurman will return as Charley.
Johnson’s recent credits include Mayor of Kingstown, Fear the Walking Dead, and Law & Order: Organized Crime, while Woodbine earned an Emmy nomination for Fargo and is known for roles in Wu-Tang: An American Saga, Underground, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The series hails from original Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips, who returns as showrunner and executive producer. Hall also executive produces alongside Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection premiered in July to 4.4 million multiplatform viewers in its first week and was renewed for Season 2 in October.
