‘Doc’ Sets Season 3 Premiere Date as Fox Reveals Its Fall 2026 Lineup

Fox has unveiled its fall 2026 schedule, and Doc is returning for a third season. The medical drama, starring Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, will premiere Tuesday, September 22 at 9 p.m., paired with the Season 2 premiere of Best Medicine at 8 p.m.

Inspired by a true story and based on a hit Italian drama series, Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen, the brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine at the fictional Westside Hospital in Minneapolis, whose life is turned upside down when a car accident erases the last eight years of her memory. Discovering that during that lost time she experienced a personal tragedy and went through a divorce, Larsen must rebuild both her personal and professional life from the ground up.

The series has become one of Fox’s biggest scripted success stories in years. It is averaging 7.3 million multiplatform viewers, making it Fox’s largest scripted multiplatform audience of the season. Eleven episodes of Season 2 ranked among the network’s top 20 multiplatform telecasts of the 2025-26 season. The show has built momentum not just on Fox but also on Hulu, Netflix and internationally.

Season 3, like Season 2, has received a full 22-episode order. A notable addition for the new season is Blair Underwood, who has been promoted to series regular after guest starring in the two-part Season 2 finale. He will play Dr. Ben Grant, described as a world-class trauma and cardiothoracic surgeon whose ego matches his extraordinary talent. His arrival at Westside sets up an immediate clash with Dr. Larsen, with sparks flying in every direction.

The cast also includes Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, Scott Wolf and Felicity Huffman, who joined in Season 2. Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg continue as co-showrunners and executive producers.

The rest of the network’s fall lineup is largely familiar, with all new seasons launching during premiere week beginning Monday, September 21.  The most notable scheduling change comes on Sundays, where live-action comedy Animal Control moves into the Animation Domination block at 8:30 p.m., joining The Simpsons, Universal Basic Guys and Grimsburg.

Several major titles have been held for midseason. The Baywatch reboot, will launch in January. Also coming at midseason is The Interrogator, an espionage thriller created by and starring Stephen Fry as a former MI6 agent leading a team of brilliant outsiders, alongside Jenna Elfman and Michael Beach. Murder in a Small Town, Memory of a Killer, The Masked Singer and the animated veterans Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad! and Krapopolis are also held until midseason.

Looking further ahead, Fox has already greenlit two series for the 2027-28 season. Highway to Heaven, which reimagines the Michael Landon classic about a probationary angel earning his wings on Earth. And Seth MacFarlane is spinning off Family Guy with Stewie, following the diabolical youngest Griffin as he uses futuristic devices to transform each miserable school day into an adventure through space and time.
