The seriocomic psychological play opens June 13 at The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles.
Dot Saint-Fleur is bringing her one-woman show One Way to The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Los Angeles. Written, produced, and performed by Saint-Fleur, the show follows Ashley Rae, an actress caught between reality and fantasy as she anxiously awaits a career-defining callback.
When the callback arrives, it sends Ashley on a chaotic, character-filled journey through the eccentric streets of Los Angeles, where a series of surreal encounters forces her to radically reconsider what she has actually been searching for all along. Drawing comparisons to The Wiz and Alice in Wonderland, the show operates at the intersection of comedy and psychological drama, exploring the thin line between chasing a dream and seeking validation.
“This is not just a story about a callback,” says executive producer MC Lyte. “It’s about a psychological exploration of the need for approval. In a world where we are increasingly reliant on applause and direction from others, One Way asks the terrifying question: what are we actually searching for? And are we right where we need to be?”
One Way was born out of Take Note, a new live monologue competition where actors perform before industry professionals, receive real-time notes, and must immediately incorporate that feedback into a second performance. The contestant who best takes the note wins. Saint-Fleur claimed the prize, and the show is the result.
Saint-Fleur is an award-winning actor and producer and a graduate of Howard University. She previously served as a Performing Apprentice at the Tony Award-winning Children’s Theater in Minneapolis and interned for Issa Rae. She is the newest client of Sunni Gyrl Entertainment, founded by MC Lyte and Lyn Richardson.
Tickets for One Way are available now via Eventbrite.
