Druski is doing double duty today. As he prepares to take the stage tonight as host of the BET Awards, the comedian dropped a trailer for Joe, a parody sketch billed as the prequel to Michael, the blockbuster Michael Jackson biopic currently making history at the global box office.
The comedic bit, shared across Druski’s social media, imagines a film chronicling the life of Joe Jackson, Michael’s father, delivered in Druski’s signature style. The timing is sharp. Michael has become the highest-grossing biopic of all time, surpassing Oppenheimer’s $975.8 million to hit $977.4 million worldwide in its tenth weekend of release. The Antoine Fuqua-directed film, which stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson in the title role, is now closing in on a billion dollars globally, a milestone only one other film has reached in 2026, Universal and Illumination’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Michael also dethroned Bohemian Rhapsody, which topped out at $911 million worldwide, to become the highest-grossing music biopic ever. Its domestic running total stands at $370.2 million with $607.2 million earned internationally.
While Joe is purely a comedic bit, Druski continues to expand his Hollywood footprint. He is set to appear in Universal Pictures’ upcoming baseball romantic comedy The Catch alongside Emma Stone and Chris Pine.
The BET Awards air tonight.
