FUBU Teams Up With Cinedigm For a Free Ad-Supported Streaming Platform For Us By Us Network

For Us By Us Network

FUBU is expanding its reach with a new venture into the streaming industry. The company has partnered with Cinedigm, a leading independent streaming company, to launch the For Us By Us (FUBU) Network.

The partnership was spearheaded by FUBU co-founder J. Alexander Martin and producer Roberto “Rush” Evans. The free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) network aims to provide high-quality, positive content for the African American community, with a focus on issues, personalities, and trends related to hip-hop culture and lifestyle. The service will be available across web, mobile, and connected TV, powered by Cinedigm’s Matchpoint Blueprint v2.0 platform.

J. Alexander Martin, co-founder and CEO of FUBU, stated, “As one of the founders of FUBU, I have gained a very deep comprehension and awareness about the urban consumer and what appeals to them not only in fashion, but entertainment as well. We created the For Us By Us Network so that we can provide high quality, positive content for our culture.”

The FUBU Network will be one of the first brands to leverage the Matchpoint platform on a SaaS basis, according to Cinedigm. The partnership is expected to tap into an underserved audience within the rapidly growing FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) segment of the entertainment industry.

“We are excited to partner with FUBU to bring their seminal lifestyle brand to the rapidly growing FAST market and establish them as a leader in video streaming services that meet the needs of the African American community,” said Marc Rashba, Executive Vice President of Partnerships at Cinedigm. “With their longstanding history and stature that this lifestyle brand maintains with the African American community, we plan to grow the reach of this brand with everything at our disposal including original new offerings across theatrical, podcasts, physical products, audiobooks and other formats.”

FUBU was founded by J. Alexander Martin and Daymond John in the late 1990s, and has since grossed more than $6 billion dollars globally. The company’s new venture into the streaming industry is a testament to its continued commitment to the African American community and its ongoing efforts to promote positive representation through various mediums.

FOR US BY US NETWORK from the people behind FUBU aims to serve the growing appetite for new and fresh content in Black households and for viewers looking for diverse stories on television. The entrepreneur and fashion designer are taking what he and Daymond John did at FUBU 30 years ago and applying it to the new-age TV model that goes beyond the traditional networks.
