HBO Confirms ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Delayed to 2025 With Notable Cast Changes

HBO Confirms 'Euphoria' Season 3 Delayed to 2025

HBO Chief Casey Bloys officially confirms the long-standing question that the eagerly awaited “Euphoria” Season 3 won’t be returning until 2025.

The delay in the third season of “Euphoria” is compounded by some major changes in the cast. Angus Cloud, who played Fez, tragically passed away, and it remains uncertain how the show will address this loss. Additionally, Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat Hernandez, announced her departure from the series last year, stating that she didn’t want to be typecast as the “fat friend.”

“Euphoria” is set in the fictional town of East Highland, California, where young individuals grapple with the challenges of love, loss, and addiction. The show is based on an Israeli series of the same name created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

In a recent interview with Elle, Sam Levinson, the creator, described Season 3 as taking on a “film noir” atmosphere. The upcoming season is expected to delve Rue (Zendaya Coleman), who portrays a teenage drug addict. It will explore the concept of individual principles in a corrupt world.

In recent developments, HBO also revealed that “The Last of Us” Season 2 will be coming in 2025, aligning with the delay in “Euphoria.” Furthermore, the presentation included teasers for “The White Lotus” Season 3 and the “It” prequel series “Welcome to Derry.”

“Welcome to Derry,” originally slated for Halloween 2024, has been postponed until 2025, as has “The White Lotus” Season 3, initially planned for 2024. These delays are attributed to the writers’ strike and ongoing actors’ strike, causing a ripple effect in HBO and Max’s 2024 schedule.

While the delay is certainly disappointing for “Euphoria” fans, it also leaves room for curiosity about the changes that may occur in the series as it approaches its third season.
