Lincoln Center Theater is bringing one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals back to the stage with a new revival of The Sound of Music.
Jasmine Amy Rogers, best known for her breakout role in Boop!, will star as Maria in the upcoming production, marking a major step in her Broadway career. The revival is scheduled for the 2026–2027 season and will be staged at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
Lear deBessonet will direct the production, with choreography by Christopher Gattelli. Performances are set to begin March 2027, with an official opening in April.
The revival returns Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic to Broadway for the first time in nearly three decades. The production will feature iconic songs including “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” while placing new emphasis on the emotional core of the Von Trapp family story set against the rise of authoritarian rule in Austria.
Rogers’ casting brings a new face to one of Broadway’s most iconic roles, signaling a fresh interpretation of Maria for a new generation of theater audiences.
Lincoln Center Theater’s upcoming season continues under artistic director Lear deBessonet following an inaugural year that included Ragtime.
The broader 2026–2027 Lincoln Center Theater season also includes Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men starring Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth, August Wilson’s Seven Guitars directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Kimberly Belflower’s Born in the Dirt, Mark Jenkins’ Playing Burton starring Matthew Rhys, the Off-Broadway revival of The Whoopi Monologues, and a series of composer-led events featuring Sara Bareilles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
