Universal Pictures and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions have secured Marlon Wayans to star in their upcoming sports horror film “Goat.” The project, based on a pitch by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, is set to be directed by Justin Tipping, known for his work on “Kicks.”
The storyline revolves around a promising young athlete who receives an invitation to train with a team’s retiring star, leading to a psychological horror tale with sports elements. The casting decision for the young athlete character involved screen testing, but sources reveal that Marlon Wayans was always at the top of the studio’s list for the titular role.
Jordan Peele will produce the upcoming horror movie alongside Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson. Executive producers are David Kern and Kate Oh.
