Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler are set to collaborate once again for an upcoming original film. Coogler, known for Black Panther and Creed, will write, direct, and produce the project through his production company, Proximity Media. Jordan, who previously worked with Coogler on Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther, will star in the film.

This marks Coogler’s return to crafting an original spec script since his breakthrough with Fruitvale Station. The duo’s successful partnership has resulted in critically acclaimed films like Creed and the groundbreaking Black Panther, making their reunion a highly anticipated event for both fans and industry insiders.
While details about the film are shrouded in secrecy, it is described as a genre-style pic with a hint of mystery. Coogler’s Proximity Media, alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, will produce the project, with Rebecca Cho from Proximity serving as an executive producer.
Michael B. Jordan, fresh off his directorial debut in Creed III, is riding high after reprising his role as Adonis Creed. Coogler, on the other hand, recently directed the highly successful Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which grossed over $800 million worldwide.
The untitled project has created significant industry buzz. Executives sought details by personally visiting WME, the agency representing Coogler and Jordan. Meetings have been held to discuss the script and secure production commitments. Described as a “genre” feature, the film’s specifics remain elusive, with potential hints of a period element.
