Netflix’s upcoming eight-episode series No Good Deed has teased us what’s to come with first look images of the dark comedy via Entertainment Weekly. Created by Liz Feldman, the mastermind behind Dead to Me, this new series is an intriguing blend of humor, tension, and hidden secrets.
No Good Deed follows the chaotic journey of three very different families, each desperate to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa in Los Feliz, a picturesque Los Angeles neighborhood. The half-hour episodes explore the lengths these families will go to secure the house, but they soon discover that their dream home might be more of a nightmare.

The series centers around Ray Romano’s Paul Morgan, a contractor on the brink of financial collapse, eager to sell the family home and escape L.A and his wife Lydia (Lisa Kudrow), a former concert pianist who’s emotionally torn over selling their beloved home, which holds joyful memories—and some well-buried secrets.
Also vying for the house are Carla (Teyonah Parris) and her husband Dennis (O-T Fagbenle), expectant parents looking for the perfect family home. They’re joined by another couple, Leslie (Abbi Jacobson) and Sarah (Poppy Liu), and JD Campbell (Luke Wilson), a down-on-his-luck actor.
The series features a robust supporting cast including Linda Cardellini, Denis Leary, and Kate Moennig, with Anna Maria Horsford portraying Denise, Dennis’ overbearing and deeply involved mother, adding tension to her son and daughter-in-law’s house-hunting journey. From a determined real estate agent to a nosy neighbor, No Good Deed promises a tangled web of relationships centered around this coveted house.
Inspired by Feldman’s own late-night Zillow searches during the pandemic, the show blends real estate drama with dark comedy, revealing that sometimes, a home isn’t just a solution to life’s problems—it can be the source of them. With Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum on board as executive producers, the series is sure to deliver both laughs and twists.
For those who enjoyed the mix of comedy and intrigue in Dead to Me, No Good Deed looks like it will offer a similarly captivating ride through Southern California’s sun-soaked yet shadowy landscapes. Be sure to keep an eye on Netflix for this highly anticipated dark comedy series.
