Noah Cottrell, Iesha Daniels, Flor Delis Alicea, and Anire Kim Amoda Among 10 to Join Disney+ ‘Holes’ Series

Noah Cottrell, Iesha Daniels, Flor Delis Alicea, and Anire Kim Amoda have joined the ensemble for the upcoming ‘Holes’ pilot for Disney+. The potential series remake is based on Louis Sachar’s 1998 bestselling novel. They’ll star alongside Greg Kinnear, Aidy Bryant, Shay Rudolph, Sophie Dieterlen, Alexandra Doke, and Maeve Press.

This new take, produced by Disney Branded Television and Walden Media, puts a fresh lens on the original story by centering the experience around a teenage girl named Hayley (played by Rudolph), who finds herself sent to a detention camp—Camp Yucca—after a wrongful accusation. But something’s off. Every day, the girls at camp are forced to dig endless holes under the sweltering sun. And while they’re told it’s “character building,” it quickly becomes clear that there’s a more sinister reason for all the digging.

Greg Kinnear plays The Warden—sharp, calculating, and dangerously charming. He’s a master manipulator who cloaks forced labor in virtue. Bryant plays Sissy, the camp counselor with big-sister energy and a secret allegiance to The Warden’s warped ideology. But at the center of the story is Hayley, whose arrival threatens to disrupt the system with heart, defiance, and a belief that fate isn’t fixed.

The rest of the cast breathes new life into this world:

  • Flor Delis Alicea is Queenie, the tough-as-nails leader of the pack who hides vulnerability under her no-nonsense exterior.
  • Anire Kim Amoda is Thumbelina, bold and fearless, even in the face of The Warden’s wrath.
  • Noah Cottrell plays Kitch, the kitchen manager with a rulebook—and secrets—of his own.
  • Iesha Daniels is Mars, brainy, charismatic, and smooth-talking, especially among the camp’s queer community.
  • Sophie Dieterlen is Sticky, dreamy and soft-spoken with a surprising inner strength.
  • Alexandra Doke is Eyeball, a chaotic creative spirit with a joke for every tense moment.
  • Maeve Press plays Shrimp, the camp’s youngest and smallest inmate with a bluntness that isolates her—but never dims her spark.

Alina Mankin penned the script and executive produces alongside showrunner Liz Phang (The Cleaning Lady). Jac Schaeffer (WandaVision) is onboard to direct, with heavy hitters like Drew Goddard, Sarah Esberg, and original Holes film producer Mike Medavoy also attached. 20th Television is the studio.

The original Holes film dropped in 2003, directed by Andrew Davis, and starred Shia LaBeouf as Stanley Yelnats, a boy trapped by his family’s cursed past. That movie was a hit—grossing $71 million globally and earning praise for its quirky tone, emotional depth, and multigenerational storytelling. The reimagined series keeps the mystery and layered symbolism but hands the shovel to a new generation—literally.

And while fans of the OG film (Zero forever!) may feel a little protective, this version promises something just as unforgettable: a gritty, character-rich look at power, choice, and rewriting your story when the world wants to bury it.

No word yet on when the full series will debut, but based on this cast and crew, Disney+ isn’t just remaking Holes—they’re redefining it.
