Emmy-nominated actor O.T. Fagbenle has joined the cast of Eleven Missing Days, the mystery thriller inspired by Agatha Christie’s real-life disappearance, where he will play Christie’s eccentric publisher, Allen Lane. He joins Vincent Cassel and Felicity Jones, with filming currently underway in the UK.
The film is directed by Bertie Ellwood, marking a reunion with Fagbenle following their previous collaboration on Peacock’s comedy series The Miniature Wife. Cassel plays a retired Belgian police detective drawn into the investigation, a role that echoes Christie’s own famous creation, Hercule Poirot.
Eleven Missing Days centers on the real-life incident from December 1926, when Christie vanished from her home in bizarre circumstances at the height of her fame, becoming front-page news and sparking an investigation that turned everyone close to her into a suspect. The case drew national and international attention, pulling in leading politicians and fellow writers including Arthur Conan Doyle into the search. The mystery remains unresolved to this day, with theories ranging from memory loss following a car crash to a possible fugue state brought on by trauma or depression.
The cast also includes Ryan McParland, Alfie Allen, Ben Hardy and Stacy Martin.
Fagbenle has recently appeared in Hulu’s All’s Fair and Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, Loot and No Good Deed. He is also known for The Handmaid’s Tale, for portraying Barack Obama opposite Viola Davis in Showtime’s The First Lady, and for creating and starring in the Channel 4/Hulu comedy Maxxx. He recently played Pharaoh opposite Ben Kingsley’s Moses in Amazon MGM’s Old Stories and previously appeared in Marvel’s Black Widow.
