Film icon Pam Grier has partnered with Village Roadshow Pictures to develop a new project based on her bestselling memoir, “Foxy: My Life in Three Acts,” published in 2010. This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter for Grier, known as the queen of 1970s Blaxploitation classics such as “Coffy” and “Foxy Brown,” as well as for her role in Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed film “Jackie Brown.”
The memoir delves into Grier’s legendary screen career, her relationships with prominent figures like Richard Pryor and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, her experiences as a Black female star navigating a landscape marked by racism and sexism, and her battle with stage-four cervical cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 1988.

The production of Grier’s biopic project is in its early stages, leaving fans eager to learn whether her story will unfold on the big screen or as a series. Overseeing the project for VRP are Jillian Apfelbaum, Tristen Tuckfield, and Nic Gordon, with Grier serving as executive producer, adding her creative vision to the development process.
Grier’s impressive career spans across film and television, earning her Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award nominations. Her notable roles include appearances in Showtime’s “The L-Word,” “Linc’s,” and a featured arc on NBC’s “This Is Us.”
Upcoming for Grier is her role in the horror anthology series “Them: the Scare,” where she stars in the second installment premiering on Prime Video. In this series, she embodies the character Athena, described as a woman with hidden secrets and “mama bear qualities.”
