Strung is set to world premiere at the American Black Film Festival before hitting Peacock on June 26.
Peacock has released the official trailer for Strung, an upcoming psychological thriller from director Malcolm D. Lee, starring Chloe Bailey, Lynn Whitfield, Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop, and Coco Jones.
Bailey stars as Laila, a talented violinist who lands what appears to be a prestigious opportunity tutoring the gifted daughter of a wealthy, enigmatic family. As she becomes increasingly entangled in their opulent world, unsettling secrets begin to surface, forcing her to question her safety, her dreams, and her sanity.
Before its Peacock debut, Strung will make its world premiere as the opening night film of the 30th annual American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach, a milestone edition themed “Homecoming” with Regina King serving as ambassador.
The film is produced by Peachtree & Vine and Blumhouse in association with Malcolm D. Lee’s Blackmaled Productions, with Tyler Perry, Jason Blum, Tim Palen, Malcolm D. Lee, and Dominique Telson serving as producers. Philip Waley, Shaun S. Sutton, Alan McElroy, and Giselle Johnson-Morris executive produce. The script was written by Alan McElroy.
Strung premieres at ABFF before streaming exclusively on Peacock on June 26.
