Cynthia Erivo Plays Sextuplets in First Look at ‘Poker Face’ Season 2—Natasha Lyonne Returns for More Mystery

Charlie Cale is back on the road, and she’s not the only one turning heads. Poker Face is gearing up for its highly anticipated second season, and first-look images confirm Cynthia Erivo will be playing sextuplets in what’s sure to be one of the show’s wildest cases yet.

Returning to Peacock in spring 2025, the sophomore season sees Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie still on the run, cruising in her 1969 Plymouth Barracuda and solving cases that practically fall into her lap. Along the way, she’ll be encountering a stacked lineup of guest stars, including Giancarlo Esposito, Ego Nwodim, John Mulaney, Katie Holmes, Awkwafina, and many more.

Lyonne, who now adds director to her list of credits, teased that season 2 will span twelve killer episodes set in some unexpected locations—including a minor league baseball stadium, a big-box retail store, an alligator farm, a funeral home, and even a grade school talent show.

In a joint statement, Lyonne and creator Rian Johnson teased what’s ahead:

“Charlie navigates her crime-solving existential road trip with deadpan wit, human empathy, and her signature uncanny lie-detecting ability. We pulled visual inspiration from American ‘70s cinema—Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich—all the stuff we love. But the backbone of this show is TV, the kind of episodic, case-of-the-week gems we grew up watching: Columbo, The Rockford Files, Quantum Leap. Each episode is a mini-movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe.”

And about that guest star roster? Even they can’t believe who signed on.

“We still can’t believe we got to work with rockstars like Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, and Awkwafina (and many, many more—the list is kinda dizzying). They all dove into the game with joy and came ready to play.”

Their parting words?

“Buckle up and see you on the road.”

Alongside Erivo’s sextuplet performance, the guest list is bigger than ever.

  • Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian)
  • Method Man (Cliff Smith) (Power Book II: Ghost)
  • Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live)
  • Sam Richardson (The Afterparty, Veep)
  • Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings)
  • Simon Rex (Red Rocket)
  • Katie Holmes (Dawson’s Creek, Batman Begins)
  • Gaby Hoffmann (Winning Time)
  • Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, Eternals)
  • Margo Martindale (Justified, The Americans)
  • John Mulaney (Big Mouth, SNL)
  • John Cho (Searching, The Afterparty)
  • Haley Joel Osment (Blink Twice, The Sixth Sense)
  • Justin Theroux (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Leftovers)
  • Patti Harrison (I Think You Should Leave, Together Together)
  • Davionte “GaTa” Ganter (Dave)
  • …and many more.

What’s Next for Poker Face?

While plot details remain under wraps, Peacock has yet to announce a specific premiere date. What is clear, though, is that season 2 will bring back everything that made the first season a hit—sharp storytelling, absurdly entertaining guest stars, and Lyonne’s signature mix of wit and grit.

Season 1 premiered in January 2023, earning a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score and four Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Lyonne. It was quickly renewed for a second season, securing Poker Face as one of Peacock’s biggest success stories.

With new showrunner Tony Tost joining Johnson and Lyonne behind the scenes, season 2 is shaping up to be just as unpredictable as Charlie’s ever-growing list of enemies.

Peacock hasn’t revealed an official premiere date, but one thing’s for sure—Charlie Cale and her Barracuda will be hitting the road soon.
