Peacock has just released the first trailer for ‘Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist,’ revealing an even more star-studded cast. Joining the impressive lineup are Sinqua Walls, RonReaco Lee, and Michael James Shaw.
These new additions will join an already robust ensemble, including renowned actors Don Cheadle, Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Dexter Darden, Myles Bullock, Rockmond Dunbar, and Marsha Stephanie Blake.
Ordered in December and created by Shaye Ogbonna, the series is based on the Will Packer-produced podcast that delves into the dramatic events surrounding Muhammad Ali’s 1970 comeback fight in Atlanta. The show, inspired by the iHeart true-crime podcast of the same name, narrates the notorious story of an armed robbery that occurred during Ali’s (Dexter Darden) historic comeback night, an event that significantly impacted Atlanta, transforming it into the “Black Mecca.”
In the series, a hustler named Chicken Man (Kevin Hart) throws an extravagant afterparty following the fight, attended by some of the nation’s wealthiest individuals. The night culminates in one of the most daring heists in Atlanta’s criminal history. Chicken Man, suspected of orchestrating the crime, is determined to prove his innocence. However, he must convince J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of Atlanta’s first Black detectives, who is assigned to bring the culprits to justice.
