STARZ Greenlights British Boxing Drama ‘Fightland’ From 50 Cent and G-Unit Film & Television

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is going across the pond to expand his TV empire with Fightland, a gritty new crime drama officially ordered to series at Starz. The eight-episode series will dive into the explosive world of underground British boxing—and marks Jackson’s first international production under his G-Unit Film & Television banner.

Production is set to begin this fall in London.

What is Fightland About?

Set in the high-stakes, cash-heavy, and cutthroat world of British boxing, Fightland follows a disgraced former champion who returns to London after a stint in prison. He’s on a mission for redemption and revenge, targeting the powerful crime family he believes betrayed him. It’s a story packed with betrayal, ambition, and brutal clashes—both in and out of the ring.

A Familiar Power Team

The project reunites Jackson with Power and BMF collaborators Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr., who will serve as executive producers, writers, and showrunners. Joining them are Expanded Media’s Francis Hopkinson (Wallander) and Kate Leadbetter (Catherine the Great), as well as Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, who are also on board as writers and executive producers.

Fightland marks my first internationally produced show through my G-Unit Film & Television. I’m excited to bring that global energy to the screen,” said Jackson in a statement. “I anticipate this being more successful than anything I’ve done before—boxing’s raw stakes are gonna take it to another level.”

STARZ and 50 Cent: A Proven Partnership

Fightland continues Jackson’s longstanding relationship with Starz, home to his ever-expanding Power universe, which includes Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Raising Kanan, and Force. Two new installments—Power: Origins and Power: Legacy (working title)—are currently in development, with the latter expected to star franchise favorites Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr.

Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz, called Fightland “unapologetically visceral” and a prime example of the type of premium storytelling Starz is doubling down on.

“Set against the backdrop of the British boxing underground, this series promises to be the perfect combination of character and adrenaline,” Busby added.

The series also arrives as Starz, recently spun off from Lionsgate, leans into building a slate of original content anchored by owned IP and bold voices—something Jackson’s projects consistently deliver.

Stay tuned for more updates on Fightland as production gets underway.
