The President of Original Programming for Starz, Kathryn Busby, expressed excitement about continuing Kanan Stark’s story. The series, set in the early 1990s, explores the origin of fan-favorite character Kanan Stark and his entry into the criminal world through his mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas, portrayed by MeKai Curtis and Patina Miller, respectively.
The show, a part of the “Power” Universe, delves into Kanan’s transformation from a devoted son to a feared crime boss. Season 3 promises intense dynamics between Raq and Kanan, setting the stage for an epic narrative.
The cast includes Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, Shanley Caswell, Antonio Ortiz, and Grantham Coleman. Sascha Penn serves as the showrunner, with executive producers including Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton.
