Starz has officially renewed “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” for a fourth season, announcing the news ahead of the Season 3 premiere scheduled for December 1. Production for the upcoming season has commenced in New York.

The President of Original Programming for Starz, Kathryn Busby, expressed excitement about continuing Kanan Stark’s story. The series, set in the early 1990s, explores the origin of fan-favorite character Kanan Stark and his entry into the criminal world through his mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas, portrayed by MeKai Curtis and Patina Miller, respectively.

The show, a part of the “Power” Universe, delves into Kanan’s transformation from a devoted son to a feared crime boss. Season 3 promises intense dynamics between Raq and Kanan, setting the stage for an epic narrative.

The cast includes Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, Shanley Caswell, Antonio Ortiz, and Grantham Coleman. Sascha Penn serves as the showrunner, with executive producers including Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton.

Season 3 premieres on December 1, with weekly episodes available on Starz platforms. The early renewal reflects confidence in the series’ compelling storytelling and the anticipation of a dedicated fan base.
