The film’s plot centers around a group of Miami police officers who stumble upon millions of dollars hidden in an abandoned stash house. As the team grapples with the discovery, trust among them begins to deteriorate. Tensions rise further when outside forces become aware of the haul, leaving the officers questioning who they can truly rely on.

The project, first reported by Deadline in June, was picked up by Netflix before the fourth of july holiday. Carnahan, known for his intense and action-packed films, is also behind the script. Affleck, Matt Damon, Luciana Damon, and Dani Bernfeld will produce the movie under their banner, Artists Equity.

Michael Joe and Kevin Halloran will serve as executive producers for Artists Equity.

This marks another exciting addition to Artists Equity’s growing slate of projects. Since its launch in November 2022, the production company has been behind a string of successful films, including Air, which debuted in 2023 to strong critical reception and box office success. Their work also includes the documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told for Amazon MGM Studios and Small Things Like These, which premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and earned Emily Watson the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Actress. Damon and Affleck’s next project, The Instigators, will premiere on Apple TV+ in August.

Teyana Taylor’s involvement in RIP follows her critically acclaimed performance in A Thousand and One, which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and earned her rave reviews.  Up next Taylor will join Niecy Nash in Ryan Murphy’s legal drama All’s Fair and join Taraji P Henson in Tyler Perry’s Straws. She will also make her directorial debut with Get Lite starring Storm Reid.
