‘The Upshaws,’ created by Regina Y. Hicks and Wanda Sykes, revolves around Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), a charming and well-intentioned mechanic, and his attempts to care for his working-class Black family in Indianapolis. The show follows Bennie’s journey as he tries to manage his family life, including his wife Regina, their two young daughters, his firstborn son, and the teenage son he shares with another woman, while also tolerating his sharp-witted sister-in-law (Wanda Sykes).

The show’s executive producers, Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes, Regina Y. Hicks, Page Hurwitz, Niles Kirchner, Annie Levine Emerson, and Jonathan Emerson, have been instrumental in shaping the show’s narrative and ensuring its continued success.
