Leon (Swarm), Elise Neal (All of Us), Aries Spears (Mad TV), and Stakiah Lynn Washington (Angel City) will lead the cast of Wes Miller’s upcoming legal thriller, Wildcards.

The ensemble is rounded out by Crew Morrow (The Bold and the Beautiful), Courtney Grace, Samantha Walkes (Cross), and Robert Catrini (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back).

Wildcards follows the intense jury deliberation of a polarizing legal case involving Theodore Sterling (Morrow), a privileged young man accused of sexually assaulting a 20-something Black woman (Washington). The trial pits Assistant State Attorney James Jones (Spears), a relentless prosecutor, against Greg Sims (Leon), a seasoned defense attorney undefeated in his 25-year career.

Tensions rise in the jury room as diverse backgrounds and clashing beliefs spur heated debates over privilege, race, and justice. The stakes escalate with the emergence of a wildcard: an enigmatic witness whose knowledge of the incident could change everything. Her motives and connection to the accused add layers of uncertainty, forcing everyone to confront their biases and assumptions.

The film is financed by BLacklight (Call Her King) and produced by Andrew van den Houten, Wes Miller, Joseph O’Connor, and Leon. Elise Neal serves as an executive producer alongside Jessie Jalee and Chad Ghiron, with Lloyd Watts co-producing.

Wes Miller, known for action-packed thrillers like A Day to Die (2022) and Call Her King (2024), shared his excitement about the project. “I’ve always loved legal thrillers and I’m excited to work with this insanely talented cast to bring this piece to life,” Miller said. “For me, it examines the discourse in our country and says more about what we can do together than apart, wrapped in a fast-paced commercially viable thriller.”

Wildcards marks another ambitious effort from Miller, blending courtroom drama with social commentary. With its stellar cast and thought-provoking narrative, the film promises to deliver a gripping and timely exploration of justice and privilege.
