Get ready for more raunchy fun in the sun as 20th Century Studios announces the release of Vacation Friends 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2021 buddy comedy Vacation Friends. The film stars Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, Meredith Hagner, and John Cena, who are all returning to reprise their roles in this follow-up adventure.
Following its successful debut last year, which held the record for Hulu’s biggest opening weekend prior to the debut of Prey, Vacation Friends introduced audiences to the unlikely pairing of an uptight couple and a rowdy couple while on vacation in Mexico. The sequel picks up a few months after the original left off and features the newly married couples embarking on a trip to a Caribbean resort. However, their vacation takes an unexpected turn when Kyla’s father Reese, played by Steve Buscemi, shows up unannounced and causes chaos.
Directed by Clay Tarver, who also helmed the first film, Vacation Friends 2 promises to bring even more laughs and hijinks to the table. Carlos Santos, Ronny Chieng, and Jamie Hector join the cast as new co-stars. Todd Garner and Stuart Besser produced the film, while Steve Pink and Sean Robins serve as executive producers.
Fans of the first film will be pleased to know that Vacation Friends 2 will premiere exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories on August 25th.
