Zach Cherry (Severance) and Academy Award nominee Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) have been cast as the leads in All Night Wrong, a new comedy feature directed by Jason James (Entanglement, Exile).
Written by Jason Filiatrault (Entanglement), the film follows Gary, a timid husband, and Ell, a grieving widow, whose ill-fated Tinder hookup sets off a chaotic chain of events. The two unexpectedly find themselves in possession of a killer’s car, a dead body, and $40,000 in cash. As their night spirals out of control, the pair navigate bad decisions, dangerous encounters, and surprising revelations about themselves and each other.
Production is slated to begin this fall in British Columbia’s Columbia Valley region. The film is a Canada-UK co-production, with Amber Ripley of Goodbye Productions and Jason James of Resonance Films leading the Canadian team, alongside Richard Kondal of Big Safari Productions for the UK. Sara Shaak of Anamorphic Media will serve as executive producer, overseeing financing, while Angela Demo (Cha Cha Real Smooth) will handle casting and executive production.

“All Night Wrong is about two heartbroken individuals who meet online for all the wrong reasons but end up discovering something about each other—and themselves—over the course of one chaotic night. Maria and Zach are the dynamic duo we didn’t know we needed. I can’t wait to take this adventure with them,” James shared in a statement.
