Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman Star in CIA Drama Special Ops: Lioness [FIRST LOOK]

Paramount+ has unveiled first-look photos of its upcoming spy thriller “Special Ops: Lioness” starring Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, and Morgan Freeman. A summer release date has been reported, according to Vanity Fair.

The show is based on a real-life CIA program and follows the story of Cruz Manuelos (played by De Oliveira), a Marine with a rough exterior and a passionate heart. She’s recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.

Kidman, who serves as executive producer, plays Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA’s senior supervisor, while Saldaña plays Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives. Freeman plays Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State in the show.

Joining the impressive cast are Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Hannah Love Lanier. Jordan and Garrett will play Two Cups and Tucker, respectively, while Annable portrays Joe’s husband and father of their two daughters. Hébert will play Randy, a tech specialist in charge of surveillance and gathering intelligence, and Wharton will portray Tex, a CIA Special Activities Division operative. Lanier will play Kate, Joe and Neil’s daughter.

Taylor Sheridan, the creative mind behind “Yellowstone,” “1883,” and “Mayor of Kingstown,” serves as the creator and showrunner for the series. “Special Ops: Lioness” is a project from MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan. Fans can expect an intense, action-packed series with a talented cast when “Special Ops: Lioness” makes its debut on Paramount+.
