The 2026 BET Awards came home. Hosted by comedian and cultural phenomenon Druski, Culture’s Biggest Night posted its strongest performance since 2019, growing across every platform from television ratings to social media to live attendance.

On television, the broadcast ranked as the highest-rated BET Awards on BET since 2019 among adults 18-49, with P18-49 impressions up 50 percent year over year. Across 12 Paramount networks, the show drew 2.6 million total viewers, up 18 percent, with young women leading the surge: women 18-34 were up 106 percent and women 18-24 up 144 percent. The immediate encore delivered triple-digit gains, with P18-49 impressions up 205 percent compared to the year prior.

The numbers off-screen were just as striking. The show ranked as the No. 1 most social program across all of television with 9.3 million interactions, and BET ranked as the No. 1 most social network on broadcast and cable combined. Day-of-show digital views were up 187 percent, total engagements up 232 percent. The hashtag #BETAwards trended No. 1 on X for 12 consecutive hours in the U.S. and seven hours worldwide, with Lauryn Hill landing at No. 2 on Google’s most searched topics of the day.

The live experience matched the energy. More than 50,000 attendees turned out across the BET Experience weekend in Los Angeles, shattering previous records. FanFest drew more than 30,000 over two days, the largest event in The Beehive’s history, while Celebrity Basketball, relocated to USC, drew more than 4,000, its biggest crowd ever. The Hollywood Bowl show featuring The Roots and Nas sold out again with more than 17,000 in attendance.

Red Carpet Live, presented by Hyundai and McDonald’s, grew livestream viewership on YouTube by 152 percent in views and 173 percent in impressions year over year. BET Media House, which united 38 media partners across podcasts, social platforms, and radio, saw minutes watched climb 172 percent.

“The strength of the BET brand is that it lives at the very center of Black culture, and this weekend proved it once again,” said Louis Carr, president of BET. “BET convenes culture and community better than anyone, and that position is ours alone.”

“From the performances to the tributes to every moment in between, we set out to create a night that felt like home for our community,” said Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming and Music Strategy at BET, who serves as executive producer of the show. “I am immensely proud of the artists, the crew, and the entire team who brought Culture’s Biggest Night to life.”

The 2026 BET Awards is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay serving as executive producers alongside Orlando. Perri Camper Rivers serves as producer for BET.
