Aliyah Mastin from “Honeygirls” and Percy Daggs IV from “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” are set to star as series regulars alongside Sterling K. Brown in Dan Fogelman’s new Hulu drama. They join previously announced cast members Krys Marshall, James Marsden, and Nicole Brydon Bloom, with Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Gerald McRaney, Charlie Evans, and Jon Beavers also on board. Michelle Meredith from “The Morning Show” and Cassidy Freeman from “The Righteous Gemstones” will have recurring roles in the series from 20th Television.
Bloom, Marsden, Nicholson, and Shahi will take on series regular roles, while Marshall, Evans, and Beavers will make recurring appearances. The series’ exact premise remains under wraps, but insiders suggest a plot centered around the President (Marsden) and his Secret Service detail led by Brown. Fogelman’s script, discreetly pitched and greenlit by senior executives at 20th Television and Hulu, promises an engaging storyline.
Mastin and Daggs play Brown’s character’s children, while Freeman portrays the President’s estranged wife and Meredith plays a waitress at a local diner. Marshall portrays Agent Robinson, a prominent Secret Service agent and professional rival to Brown’s character. McRaney takes on the role of Kane, President Marsden’s influential father.
Bloom plays Jane, a young Secret Service agent looking up to Brown’s character, while Beavers is Billy, another member of the President’s detail. Evans portrays Jeremy, the President’s son, Nicholson embodies a political force behind the scenes, and Shahi assumes the role of a therapist with hidden secrets.
Produced by 20th Television, the series is backed by executive producers Fogelman, Sterling K. Brown, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, and Steve Beers. This project marks a reunion for Fogelman and Hoberg, who previously collaborated on ABC favorites “Galavant” and “The Neighbors.”
This untitled series is Fogelman’s second project under his executive production deal with Hulu, following the success of “Only Murders in the Building.” Simultaneously, Sterling K. Brown is set to star in the upcoming Hulu limited series “Washington Black,” showcasing the fruitful partnership between creators and the streaming platform. Fans are eagerly anticipating the unfolding of this mysterious and intriguing presidential drama.
