Snowpiercer, the gripping post-apocalyptic drama, has thawed from its frozen fate and found new life at AMC Networks after being rescued from cancellation. Following its cancellation at TNT without airing its fourth and final season, the show has been granted a new lease on life, with Season 4 set to debut on AMC and AMC+ next year. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to catch up on the first three seasons when they become available for streaming later this year.
The announcement, made on Thursday, highlighted the excitement surrounding the series’ revival. Ben Davis, executive VP of original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios, expressed enthusiasm for welcoming Snowpiercer to the network, acknowledging its dedicated fanbase and likening it to other beloved franchise series. Davis stated, “Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+.”

Snowpiercer, based on Bong Joon Ho’s acclaimed 2013 film and the graphic novel it adapted, presents a dystopian world where humanity’s remnants survive aboard a perpetual-motion train traversing a frozen Earth. The struggle for survival and societal balance amid the harsh conditions forms the core of the narrative. The cast includes Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Rowan Blanchard, and Roberto Urbina, with season 4 adding Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov.
David Diggs, one of the stars of Snowpiercer, shared his excitement about the show’s continuation, stating, “We’re so thrilled the train has finally found a home, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at AMC and Tomorrow Studios for giving the fans of Snowpiercer a chance to enjoy season four with all the hard work this amazing cast and crew put into it.”
The series’ journey to AMC came after its original network, TNT, shifted away from scripted programming following a merger with WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc. Despite the setback, the producers at Tomorrow Studios remained determined to find a new home for Snowpiercer, aiming to expand the franchise with prequels and sequels.
Showrunner Paul Zbyszewski expressed gratitude for AMC and Tomorrow Studios for providing the opportunity for fans to experience the culmination of the series. Under this deal, the first three seasons of “Snowpiercer” will be available for streaming on AMC+ later this year, with the fourth season scheduled to air on both the linear network and the streaming service in early 2025.
