The crew is back and bigger than ever: Netflix has confirmed that filming for the second season of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is officially underway in the UK. The British crime drama is making waves with an expanded cast that includes some fresh and surprising faces.
Season 2 sees returning stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings reprising their roles as Eddie, Susie, and Freddy, alongside veterans Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito. They’re picking up the story one year after Eddie and Susie teamed up to steer Bobby’s criminal empire, now grappling with Bobby’s increasingly reckless decisions.
Among the new players stepping into the mix: Hugh Bonneville, Amra Mallassi, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, and Tyler Conti. Two particularly eye-catching additions are multi-talented artist Benjamin Clementine (Dune, Blitz) and pro boxer Chris Eubank Jr. Adding even more star power is TV host, DJ, and entrepreneur Maya Jama, joining this already impressive lineup.
In true Ritchie fashion, season 2 promises a thrilling ride that moves the action from the English countryside to the picturesque Italian lakes. “Eddie and Susie find themselves navigating an increasingly volatile empire as they’re besieged on all fronts by an influx of enigmatic new players,” said Ritchie in a statement. “The stakes are heightened, the power dynamics are more precarious, and I’m thrilled to be collaborating once again with this exceptional cast and crew.”
With eight hour-long episodes, The Gentlemen season 2 is a co-production between Netflix, Moonage Pictures (part of ITV Studios), and Miramax TV. The series is created and written by Guy Ritchie and Matthew Read, with Ritchie also returning to direct alongside Eran Creevy.
