Camrus Johnson Joins Second Season of Netflix’s Live-Action Series ‘One Piece’

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the beloved manga “One Piece” has announced new additions to its cast for the upcoming second season. Camrus Johnson, known for his role in “Batwoman,” will join the series as Mr. 5, one of the four new villains being introduced.

Joining Johnson are Daniel Lasker, who will portray Mr. 9, Jazzara Jaslyn cast as Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian stepping into the role of Mr. 3. These characters are members of the infamous criminal organization Baroque Works, directly adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga and its anime counterpart.

The primary cast from the first season will be returning. Iñaki Godoy will reprise his role as Monkey D. Luffy, the aspiring Pirate King. He will be joined once again by Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji). This season, they will face off against the Baroque Works members in their continued quest for the legendary treasure, One Piece.

The first season of “One Piece” premiered on August 31, 2023, and received praise from both fans and critics for its faithful yet fresh adaptation of the source material. The series follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young adventurer who dreams of becoming the King of the Pirates. Setting off from his small village, Luffy embarks on a perilous journey to find the fabled treasure, One Piece. Along the way, he assembles a diverse and loyal crew, navigates the vast seas, and confronts various formidable foes and the persistent Marines.

“One Piece” is a collaborative production between Netflix, Tomorrow Studios, and Shueisha, the manga’s publisher. The series is executive produced by the original creator Eiichiro Oda, along with co-showrunners Matt Owens and Joe Tracz. Other executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda, who co-ran Season 1 alongside Owens but was replaced by Tracz for the second season.
