All-American Has Found a New Quarterback! Elijah M. Cooper Latest Newcomer to Join ‘All American’ Season 7

Elijah M. Cooper has been cast in a recurring role for Season 7 of All American. Cooper will portray Yasi, the quarterback for South Crenshaw High. According to Deadline, he’s set to appear in multiple episodes, although the exact number remains uncertain as scripts are still in progress.

Season 7 marks a pivotal shift for the long-running CW series as it returns to its high school roots with significant changes to the cast. Following the exits of several series regulars, including Daniel Ezra (Spencer), Samantha Logan (Olivia), and others, the show is embracing a new generation of teenagers navigating life in Los Angeles.

Despite the departures, original cast members Michael Evans Behling (Jordan), Greta Onieogou (Layla), and Bre-Z (Coop) will reprise their roles as series regulars. Ezra and Logan are confirmed for guest appearances, with Ezra also stepping behind the camera to direct episodes this season. Joining Cooper as new additions to the cast are Osy Ikhile, Nathaniel McIntyre, Antonio J. Bell, and Alexis Chikaeze.

Cooper is no stranger to television, having appeared as Cobo on Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay and Harry, the son of Angela Bassett’s Athena Grant, on ABC’s 9-1-1. He will also star in the upcoming Goosebumps: The Vanishing on Disney+.

The upcoming season introduces fresh characters and storylines. Osy Ikhile will play Coach Cassius Jeremy, a driven family man aiming to revive Beverly High’s football program. Nathaniel McIntyre stars as KJ, Coach Jeremy’s son and Beverly’s new quarterback, whose NFL aspirations are met with the challenges of high school life and rivalries. Alexis Chikaeze (Amina) and Antonio J. Bell (Khalil) have been promoted to series regulars, ensuring the drama continues to unfold at South Crenshaw High.

Season 7’s synopsis teases a return to All American’s core themes—intense rivalries, NFL dreams, and the original characters adjusting to their roles as mentors for a new generation. The 13-episode season, premiering in 2025, will balance the emotional beats the series is known for with new challenges on and off the football field.

This season also marks the end of the All American spinoff Homecoming, which concludes after three seasons.
