Fox Cancels Comedy Series ‘Going Dutch’ After Two Seasons

Fox has canceled Going Dutch, the network’s military comedy starring Denis Leary. The series ran for two seasons, with the most recent season premiering in January 2026 and its finale airing on April 23.

The cancellation is not a surprise. Going Dutch was the lowest-rated entertainment program on Fox this season and had been sitting on the bubble for months. While Leary is well regarded internally at the network and a renewal was under consideration, Fox ultimately decided not to move forward with a third season.

The series followed U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn, played by Leary, who after an unfiltered public rant is reassigned to the least strategic military base in the Netherlands. There he attempts to restore order alongside his estranged daughter, Captain Maggie Quinn, played by Taylor Misiak. The cast also included Danny Pudi, Laci Mosley, Hal Cumpston, Joe Morton, Catherine Tate, and Kristen Johnston, who joined in a recurring role during Season 2. Joel Church-Cooper created the series and served as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Hilary Winston. Leary and Jack Leary executive produced via their production company Amoeba. Fox Entertainment Studios produced.

The cancellation comes ahead of Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers on May 11, where the network will reveal its 2026-2027 season plans. Fox has already confirmed renewals for Doc, Best Medicine, Memory of a Killer, Fear Factor: House of Fear, and Animal Control, which heads into a fifth season and holds a licensing deal with Netflix along with international sales. Fox’s Animation Domination block — The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and American Dad — is also returning, with a Stewie spinoff from Family Guy recently greenlit as well.

Going Dutch marks Fox’s first scripted cancellation of the season. With the network continuing to scale back its live-action comedy presence, Animal Control now stands as the only live-action comedy currently on the Fox slate.
