Netflix is gearing up for the premiere of its reggeaton series from Daddy Yankee, “Neon,” which is scheduled to hit screens on October 19, 2023. This eight-episode comedy series promises to take viewers on a captivating journey through the world of reggaeton, as it follows the dreams and challenges of three friends on their path to stardom. Starring Tyler Dean Flores, Emma Ferreira, Jordan Mendoza, and Courtney Taylor, “Neon” is set to deliver a blend of humor, ambition, and the ups and downs of the music industry.

The story of “Neon” begins in a small-town Florida setting and soon transitions to the vibrant and luminous landscape of Miami. It revolves around the lives of three close friends who are determined to achieve success in the reggaeton music scene. Tyler Dean Flores takes on the role of Santi, a promising reggaeton artist who, with the support of his friends Ness (Emma Ferreira), Felix (Jordan Mendoza), and A&R representative Mia (Courtney Taylor), aspires to become the next big star in the reggaeton genre, or at the very least, afford his rent.
“Neon” was co-created by Shea Serrano and Max Searle, with Serrano also serving as the showrunner. The series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including SB Projects, Anne Clements, Daddy Yankee, and the co-creators, Serrano and Searle. The executive music producers for the series are Tainy, Lex Borrero, and Ivan Rodriguez, who are collectively known as Tainy & One Six.
Music plays a central role in the series, and the soundtrack is in capable hands, with One Six of Neon16 and Ntertain, along with Joe Rodriguez and Javier Nuno of Indice, serving as the Music Supervisors. The combination of talent and the reggaeton backdrop sets the stage for an exciting and entertaining viewing experience.
