The ever-busy Kandi Burruss has joined the cast of Onyx Collective’s “Reasonable Doubt” for its second season. The announcement was made on Good Morning America, featuring a clip of one of her scenes.
“Reasonable Doubt” returns on August 22 with a double-episode premiere. New episodes will stream every Thursday on Hulu.
In the upcoming season, Jax Stewart, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi, attempts to rebuild her life following a turbulent trial and a dangerous affair. Her plans are disrupted when her close friend Shanelle (Shannon Kane) confesses to killing her husband, JT, in self-defense. As Jax defends Shanelle, she faces an unyielding prosecutor and the pressures of the most significant case of her career, while also trying to salvage her marriage and personal well-being.
Kandi Burruss will portray Eboni Phillips, a recovering addict, showcasing a wide range of emotions throughout the season. In her interview, Burruss shared her excitement for the role and the depth it brings.
In the featured clip, Jax’s investigator, Daniel Kim (Tim Jo), approaches Eboni at night after her shift. Initially mistaking him for a reporter, she learns he is part of Shanelle’s defense team. Eboni is the mother of JT’s child, Natasha.

The series also stars McKinley Freeman, Angela Grovey, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Aderinsola Olabode, Pauletta Washington, Shannon Kane, Sean Patrick Thomas, Christopher Cassarino, Tiffany Yvonne Cox, and Victor Rasuk. Morris Chestnut joins this season as newcomer Corey Cash.
