Comedian KevOnStage Announces North American Stand-Up Tour ‘Grief Sucks: A One Man Show’

Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks is taking his grief on the road.

The comedian, actor, and New York Times bestselling author has announced Grief Sucks: A One Man Show, a 31-city North American stand-up tour promoted by Live Nation. The run kicks off August 14 at The Lyric in Birmingham, Alabama and closes December 20 at Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta. Stops include Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Las Vegas, and Honolulu, among others.

The announcement follows a sold-out four-show run at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, where Fredericks tested the material before taking it nationwide. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 17 at 10 AM local time at kevonstage.com, with a Citi presale opening Wednesday, July 15.

In our interview with Fredericks, he opened up about the heart of the material. His brother was his manager, his creative partner, and his best friend, and when asked how he balances the humor with the emotion without it feeling exploitative, he reframed the question entirely. He compared the special to a sculptor creating a portrait of someone they lost, arguing that because comedy is his art form, it only makes sense to use it to honor the person who shaped him most. “This is my gift to the world and my gift to you at the same time,” he said.

He also spoke to why the timing feels right. At 40 and beyond, he said, the chance that you have not dealt with loss is very low, and for those who haven’t yet, it is coming. The special is his way of helping people cope while immortalizing his brother’s legacy. “He’s gonna be immortalized at least in my offering through it,” Fredericks said.

For those who can’t make it out, the special won’t disappear when the tour wraps. As we previously reported, Fredericks signed a multi-year, multi-project deal with Tubi earlier this year, the platform’s largest creator partnership to date, which includes his first stand-up special. Grief Sucks is slated to arrive on Tubi in February 2027.

It is a notable turn for a comedian whose brand has largely lived in ensemble and sketch comedy, and a reminder that the biggest deal in Tubi creator history wasn’t built on TV shows alone.
