Apple has once again demonstrated its prowess in the world of streaming with the release of “The Changeling” trailer. Starring the LaKeith Stanfield, along with Clark Backo and more, “The Changeling” offers a tantalizing glimpse into a world of mystery, magic, and psychological twists.
From the very first frame, the trailer introduces us to a mesmerizing tale. Lakeith Stanfield and Clark Backo take center stage as a girl and a guy sitting in a local restaurant. Stanfield’s character listens intently as Backo’s narration draws us into a story of bold choices and missed opportunities, including her relocation to Brazil and a daring visit to a forbidden lagoon waterfall, where she encounters a mysterious older woman.
A pivotal moment occurs when the woman binds a vibrant red ribbon around Baco’s wrist, granting her three wishes. The trailer hints at a romantic proposal in which Stanfield’s character severs the ribbon. This action sets the stage for a whirlwind of events, including marriage, parenthood, and a sudden disappearance.
As the trailer plunges into the depths of darkness, Stanfield’s character is thrust into a harrowing journey to unravel the truth behind his partner’s vanishing act. The series, based on Victor LaValle’s bestselling book of the same name, promises a psychological thriller that navigates the murky waters of human emotions and the unforeseen consequences of choices.
LaKeith Stanfield is also taking on the role of executive producer of The Changeling. With Adina Porter, Samuel T. Herring, Alexis Louder, and Jared Abrahamson rounding out the cast.

Behind the scenes, showrunner and executive producer Kelly Marcel, renowned for her work on “Cruella” and the “Venom” franchise, crafts a compelling adaptation. The pilot episode is helmed by the visionary Melina Matsoukas.
“The Changeling” is a collaborative effort between Apple Studios and Annapurna, both recognized for their commitment to producing exceptional content. Executive producers Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu, and Ali Krug represent Annapurna, while a distinguished team comprising Kelly Marcel, Victor LaValle, David Knoller, and Jonathan van Tulleken, alongside LaKeith Stanfield, shape the series as executive producers. Melina Matsoukas adds her creative touch through her production company, De La Revolución Films. Sue Naegle and David Wolkis contribute significantly, and co-executive producer Khaliah Neal rounds out the production team.
“The Changeling,” will make its debut on Friday, September 8, 2023, with three episodes premiering on the first day followed by weekly releases of single episodes until October 13.
