‘Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent’ Heads to The CW With U.S. Debut This Fall

The CW is adding a Canadian twist to one of television’s most iconic franchises. The network has picked up the first two seasons of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, bringing the series to U.S. audiences for the first time this fall as part of its 2025-2026 lineup.

Led by Rectify’s Aden Young and City on Fire’s Kathleen Munroe, the ensemble cast also includes Karen Robinson (Schitt’s Creek), K.C. Collins (The Cleaning Lady), Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters), Araya Mengesha (Brother), and Dylan Taylor (Departure). Together, they bring depth and sharp instincts to this Toronto-based take on the beloved procedural format.

Set in Canada’s largest city, the show follows Detective Sergeants Henry Graff (Young) and Frankie Bateman (Munroe), elite members of the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit. The duo tackles high-stakes homicides with a psychological edge—unraveling not just how crimes were committed, but why. From high finance and politics to real estate and media, no sector is off-limits as they dig into the city’s most powerful circles.

Season 1 first premiered on Citytv in 2024 and quickly became the network’s top-rated primetime drama debut of the year. Season 2 is currently airing in Canada, and both seasons will now have a home on The CW.

Based on the original format by Dick Wolf and developed by Law & Order veteran Rene Balcer for Universal Television, Law & Order Toronto is showrun by Tassie Cameron (Mary Kills People). The series is produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc., in association with Universal International Studios and Citytv, a subsidiary of Rogers Sports & Media. Executive producers include Erin Haskett, Amy Cameron, Alex Patrick, and David Valleau, with Tex Antonucci serving as co-executive producer.

“The Law & Order brand is one of the most iconic in television history, and this Toronto edition is a gripping new chapter we’re thrilled to bring to our viewers,” said Brad Schwartz, President of The CW Network.
