Love stories, lavish balls, and Lady Whistledown’s latest scoop—Bridgerton just secured two more seasons and teased what’s next in 2026.
Netflix announced the double-season pickup during its 2025 upfront presentation, confirming that more Bridgerton siblings will have their love stories told. While no official plot details have been revealed, all signs point to future seasons centering on Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie)—both of whom have been quietly building to their own romantic arcs across the series.
The renewal means Bridgerton has now covered six of the planned eight seasons based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels about the aristocratic family of eight. And with Season 4 still ahead, it’s safe to say Shondaland isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Speaking of Season 4—Netflix also unveiled a sneak peek at the new season, which is set to drop in 2026 and will spotlight Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and newcomer Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). In true Cinderella fashion, their story begins at a masquerade ball, where Benedict meets the mysterious “Lady in Silver” and feels an instant connection… even if he doesn’t know her true identity just yet.
Season 4 picks up where Season 3’s finale left off, planting seeds for Benedict’s arc with a quick nod to the ball hosted by his mother, Violet Bridgerton. It also marks the halfway point in Netflix’s adaptation journey, as the series moves through each sibling’s love story one book at a time.
The returning cast includes franchise favorites like Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Simone Ashley, and Adjoa Andoh, with Julie Andrews returning as the voice of Lady Whistledown. New additions include Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, and Isabella Wei, playing Sophie’s stepmother and stepsisters—adding even more tension to the romantic drama.
Here’s a taste of what’s to come in Bridgerton Season 4:
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating woman at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Originally premiering in December 2020, Bridgerton has become a global phenomenon and one of Netflix’s most-watched series ever. Season 1 and 3 remain in the streamer’s all-time Top 10 English-language series list, and its spinoff Queen Charlotte only deepened the fandom.
Season 4 will consist of eight episodes and is executive produced by showrunner Jess Brownell, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen.
With Season 4 slated for 2026 and two more seasons now in the pipeline, the Bridgerton universe is showing no signs of slowing down—and we’ll be seated.
