Netflix has released the first images from its upcoming crime drama Missing You, starring Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, and Jessica Plummers. Based on Harlan Coben’s 2014 novel, the series follows Detective Kat Donovan, whose world is upended after a chance encounter with her estranged fiancé reopens the unsolved mystery of her father’s murder.
The newly released stills primarily focus on Eleazar as Kat, highlighting the emotional intensity of her character. One image captures Kat standing in the rain, drenched, her expression unreadable, while another shows her with Jessica Plummer’s character, Stacey, peering intently at something on a phone. Richard Armitage, who portrays Ellis Stagger, is seen looking suspiciously out of a window, suggesting that his character may play a darker role in the unfolding mystery.
The Missing You cast also includes Rudi Dharmalingam, Jackie Knowles, Andy M. Milligan, Manoj Anand, and Sofia Price. A few images show lighter moments, such as one where Walters and Eleazar, as an engaged couple, share a happy moment at a party. However, the tension ramps up in another shot where a man is violently attacked by an unknown assailant, hinting at the series’ darker undertones.
Though Missing You is slated for release in 2025, the reveal of these images signals that the series could debut earlier in the year, potentially following the New Year’s Day release pattern of Coben’s previous Netflix adaptation, Fool Me Once.
The series marks the latest collaboration between Coben and Netflix, following hits like Stay Close and The Stranger. Produced by Quay Street Productions, with Coben serving as an executive producer alongside Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Danny Brocklehurst, and Victoria Asare-Archer, who also wrote the series, Missing You promises to deliver the signature twists and suspense that fans of Coben’s work have come to expect.
Set in the UK, with filming locations around Manchester and the North West of England, Missing You offers a fresh spin on the original New York-based novel. As the release date approaches, viewers can expect more updates, but for now, these first images give an enticing glimpse into the mystery that will unravel when the series lands on Netflix.
