Omar Sy Returns as Assane Diop: Netflix Sets October Release Date for ‘Lupin’ Part 4

The French crime drama’s biggest season yet brings back the full cast for eight new episodes, with production wrapped across Paris

Netflix has confirmed that Lupin Part 4 will premiere globally on October 23, bringing Omar Sy back as gentleman thief Assane Diop for eight new episodes. The announcement came alongside new poster art for the series, which ranks among Netflix’s biggest international hits.

Part 3 ended on a cliffhanger in October 2023, with Assane having spent most of the season living in hiding and pulling off a series of high-stakes thefts before ultimately turning himself in to police. Part 4 picks up from there, with the gentleman thief returning to Paris for what promises to be the most action-packed installment yet.

Production wrapped after months of filming across the French capital, with the crew shutting down several iconic Parisian streets including areas throughout the 16th arrondissement and central Paris. One of the most talked-about moments from the shoot featured Sy in full costume as Assane riding a horse through the streets of Paris in his signature long trench coat.

The full returning cast includes Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, and Laïka Blanc-Francard. Behind the camera, creator George Kay continues alongside François Uzan, with writing credits shared by Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Tigran Rosine, and Florent Meyer. Directing duties are split between Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout, and Hugo Gélin. The series is produced by Gaumont in collaboration with Carrousel Studios.

Inspired by the classic Arsène Lupin character created by Maurice Leblanc, the series has accumulated 711.9 million hours watched between 2023 and 2025, equating to 154.9 million views, and holds two spots on Netflix’s all-time most-watched non-English language series list.

Lupin Part 4 premieres October 23 on Netflix.
