Pharrell Williams is set to have his life story told in a unique way – through Legos. The upcoming movie, “Piece by Piece,” directed by Oscar winner Morgan Neville, is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
The 13-time Grammy winner and double Oscar nominee shared his excitement on social media, expressing his disbelief that playing with Legos as a kid would lead to a movie about his life. Williams stated, “Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too… #PieceByPiece.”

In a joint statement with Neville, Williams reflected on the collaboration, saying, “When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through Lego bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Morgan. He is a legend.” Neville added, “Five years ago, Pharrell Williams approached me with the idea of helping him tell his story through Lego animation. It was one of those rare moments where I knew in a second that this was a journey I wanted to go on… We assembled an incredible team of creative collaborators to help make a new type of film. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Produced by Neville, Caitrin Rogers (Tremolo Productions), Williams, Mimi Valdés, and Shani Saxon (i am OTHER), the film brings Pharrell’s vision to life in a Lego world where creativity knows no bounds. Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone serve as executive producers for the Lego Group.
